Belgium-based, fortune 500 Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), a multinational producer, distributor, and marketer of beer, alcoholic beverages, and soft drinks wants to expand its existing Mysuru unit by investing an additional Rs. 500 Crores. This was disclosed by the visiting Chairman & CEO Mr. John Crop on 05-Dec-2022.
The Mysuru unit already has 2000 people on payroll and 79% of its products are made using renewable energy. With the expansion of this brewery, the State treasury would get an additional revenue of Rs 200-300 crore every year, besides the creation of many direct and indirect jobs, the release added.

The State was appreciated for having the best Excise policy and also a good industry-friendly atmosphere, it further said, adding that the company intends to make more investments in Karnataka.
AB InBev is one of the Fortune 500 companies in the world and has manufacturing units in 150 countries. In India, its headquarters is located in Bengaluru.
