NHAI to four-lane Belur to Hassan Section

Earlier this year Centre Government had approved the budget for the  widening of Belur to Hassan section of National Highway-373 in Karnataka. In this regard, NHAI has initiated the bidding process to take up the civil works.

About the Project 

The project involves widening the Belur to Hassan section of National Highway-373 in Karnataka from Design Chainage Km. 27.780 (SH Chainage Km. 459.500) to Km. 57.320 (SH Chainage Km. 489.040) to create a four-lane road with paved shoulders.

It will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode as part of the NH(O) Annual Plan 2022-23 (Package-II).

Work Details

The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 484.08 Crore, which includes expenses related to Goods and Services Tax (GST) and utility shifting.

The construction period for the project is set to span 24 months, during which the primary construction work will be executed to widen the road and add paved shoulders.

Following the completion of the construction phase, there will be a maintenance period of 5 years, during which the newly widened road with its added features will be carefully maintained and monitored to ensure its optimal performance & safety.  

Employing the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, the designated contractor will assume end-to-end responsibility, spanning from design to construction, which is expected to streamline project implementation and ensure adherence to strict timelines.

By optimizing the carriageway dimensions and integrating well-engineered paved shoulders, the project aims to augment road resilience and bolster safety standards for users.
