As per sources, an urgent request has been made by South Western Railways to South Central Railways for the replacement of the diesel locomotives currently in use on the Mysuru-Kacheguda Express train (Train No. 12785/12786) with electric locomotives.
To accommodate this change, South Central Railway is expected to temporarily allocate electric locomotives from trains operated by it. This arrangement is expected to remain in effect until new locomotives are assigned to SCR or until September 30, 2023, whichever is earlier.
The fully end to end electric loco hauling between Mysuru and Kacheguda (Hyderabad) is expected to take effect from August 28, 2023, for train no. 12785 Kacheguda Mysuru Express, and from August 29, 2023, for train no. 12786 Mysuru Kacheguda Express. Importantly, there will be no alterations to the trains’ operating schedules.
