Advanced Land Navigation System (ALNS) for AFVs
The procurement of the Advanced Land Navigation System (ALNS) Mk-II, designed to be spoof-proof with high levels of encryption, was approved for the Indian Army’s Armoured Fighting Vehicles. The ALNS Mk-II is compatible with multiple navigation systems, including the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS, NavIC), Global Positioning System (GPS), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS). Additionally, it offers compatibility with Defence Series Maps, ensuring high accuracy in navigational applications for AFVs. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Chennai, will supply this equipment under the Buy [Indian-Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured (IDDM)] category.
Interceptor Boats for the Indian Coast Guard
To bolster the capabilities of the Indian Coast Guard, the DAC approved the procurement of 22 Interceptor Boats equipped with state-of-the-art systems. These boats are designed for quick interception and operations in shallow waters within territorial waters. Their primary roles include coastal surveillance, patrolling, search and rescue operations, and medical evacuation.
These acquisitions aim to significantly enhance the operational efficiency and capabilities of both the Indian Army and the Indian Coast Guard, ensuring robust defense and security measures for the country.
