Asian Paints Ltd. and PPG Industries have renewed their joint venture in India for another 15 years, reinforcing their longstanding partnership in the coatings industry. The renewed agreement will take effect in 2026 and run through 2041.
This strategic renewal is aimed at continuing to deliver cutting-edge solutions in automotive coatings, industrial paints, marine protection, powder finishes, and packaging coatings, across India – one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

The partnership originally began in 1997 with the formation of PPG Asian Paints Pvt. Ltd., a 50-50 joint venture for automotive, marine, and packaging coatings. In 2012, the companies expanded their collaboration with a second 50-50 venture, Asian Paints PPG Pvt. Ltd., focused on protective and powder coatings.
As part of the renewed structure:
- PPG will continue to lead PPG Asian Paints Pvt. Ltd.
- Asian Paints will continue managing Asian Paints PPG Pvt. Ltd.
This extension further cements both companies’ commitment to India’s expanding coatings market, which is driven by growth in the automotive, infrastructure, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
