NHAI Plans Grade Separator at Devalapura Cross
Mysuru – The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has announced a major road safety improvement project at Devalapura Cross on NH-275K, Mysuru Ring Road. The project aims to reduce accidents and improve traffic flow by constructing a grade separator at the busy four-arm junction.
Key Details of the Project
- Location: Devalapura Cross, NH-275K, Mysuru Ring Road
- Length: 0.8 km
- Estimated Cost: ₹30.82 crore (including GST and utility shifting)
- Construction Period: 18 months
- Maintenance Period: 10 years

NH-275K is a crucial route for trade, commerce, and tourism in Mysuru. It connects major attractions like Mysuru Palace, Chamundi Hills, and KRS Dam. The Devalapura Cross junction sees high traffic volumes, especially on weekends and holidays.

Junction Improvements
- A 30m span vehicular underpass (VUP) at Km 23.854
- A 12m span light vehicular underpass (LVUP) at Km 24.190
- Increased turning radius to 15m for smoother movement
- Minimum clearance of 5.5m (VUP) and 4.0m (LVUP)
High Traffic Volume & Safety Measures
As per a June 2024 traffic census, over 25,327 passenger car units (PCUs) pass through this junction daily, with peak hour traffic reaching 3,345 vehicles. The road safety audit confirmed the need for improvements to prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow.
The MoRTH’s project will enhance road safety and efficiency, making travel on Mysuru Ring Road safer for all commuters.
