Earlier this month the Himalayan Heli Services Ltd., India’s top helicopter company specializing in pilgrimage and aerial work, has placed an order for two Airbus H125 helicopters to enhance its fleet. This addition will bring the company’s total H125 fleet to eight, solidifying its position as the largest H125 multi-mission operator in India. The new helicopters will support commercial air transport and aerial work missions across northern India’s challenging terrains.
T. Wangchuk Shamshu, Managing Director of Himalayan Heli Services, expressed pride in the long-standing partnership with Airbus, stating, “The H125 has been a safe, versatile, and reliable choice for high-altitude passenger flights and geophysical surveys. Airbus’ technical support ensures confidence, especially in remote regions.”
Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters in India and South Asia, highlighted the significance of the order, saying, “This decision reflects Himalayan Heli’s trust in Airbus and strengthens our partnership. The H125’s performance in high-altitude environments makes it an ideal asset for expanding services.”

The Airbus H125, a globally renowned single-engine helicopter, is celebrated for its versatility and ability to operate in extreme conditions. Part of the Ecureuil family, it has logged over 40 million flight hours worldwide and is capable of missions ranging from firefighting and rescue to passenger transport. Notably, the H125 is the only helicopter to have landed on Mount Everest, showcasing its unmatched high-altitude capabilities.
