Air India Shifts to Tokyo Haneda for Faster Travel
From March 31, 2025, Air India will shift its Delhi-Tokyo flights from Narita to Haneda Airport (HND). This move ensures faster and more affordable access to downtown Tokyo, cutting travel time by almost half.
Air India and ANA Strengthen Codeshare Partnership
Starting April 1, 2025, Air India will expand its codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA). Passengers can now seamlessly fly to Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo under a single ticket with baggage checked through. ANA will also codeshare on Air India flights across Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune.
Why Tokyo Haneda?
Haneda Airport is just 18 km from Tokyo Station, compared to Narita’s 70 km distance. This strategic shift offers shorter travel time and lower transport costs, enhancing passenger convenience.
Boost for India-Japan Trade and Tourism
The move strengthens India-Japan connectivity, benefiting business travelers and tourists. In 2024, 233,000 Indian tourists visited Japan, a 40% surge from the previous year, highlighting growing interest.
