Tata Motors Expands Production in India

Tata Motors has laid the foundation for a new vehicle manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. Located in Panapakkam, Ranipet district, this modern plant is set to produce next-generation vehicles. These include electric and luxury models.

This production is aimed at both the Indian and global markets. The project aligns with Tata’s vision of “Make in India, For the World.”

Job Creation and Skill Development

The new facility is expected to create over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. Tata Motors aims to foster skill-building among the local community. The company plans to prioritize the hiring of women employees across various levels.

The company also highlights its commitment to sustainable practices, as the plant will run on 100% renewable energy.

Investment and Future Plans

Tata Motors will invest approximately INR 9,000 crores in the facility. It has an annual production capacity of over 250,000 vehicles. The plant will begin production in phases, with full capacity expected in the next 5-7 years. This investment further strengthens Tamil Nadu’s position as a key automotive hub in India.

Key Support from Tamil Nadu Government

The groundbreaking event was attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Thiru M.K. Stalin, who praised Tata Motors’ contributions to the state’s economy. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, emphasized the company’s focus on advanced technology and sustainability for the plant.
