To drive this growth forward, GAIL (India) Limited has outlined plans to enter the LNG retail sector by establishing LNG dispensing stations along major transportation routes, particularly focusing on the golden quadrilateral and major national highways. GAIL aims to secure a market share exceeding 50% within the next 5-6 years, positioning itself as a central player in the retail LNG sector. This strategic move will not only contribute to an expansion of GAIL’s natural gas portfolio but also facilitate the reduction of carbon emissions by transitioning transport fuel usage from diesel to LNG.
An investment amount of Rs. 650 crores is earmarked for this initiative, reflecting GAIL’s commitment to capitalizing on the emerging opportunities within the retail LNG sector and driving sustainable growth while addressing environmental concerns.
